Dance & Music Academy was founded in 2008 by husband and wife team Erwin Sateler and Neta Thurman. They brought together their love for music and dance to create a school that would service the community with lessons for the whole family including:
Guitar, Piano, Violin, Voice, Drums, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Acrobatics,
and Contemporary. Erwin and Neta have created a nurturing atmosphere by
selecting instructors that are not only proficient in their specialties but are also good role models for youth.
Each spring, Dance Music Academy showcases its students in an annual recital. These productions are a combination of both music and dance students, providing stage experience and an opportunity for students to share their talent and hard work with family and friends.
Erwin and Neta are grateful for being welcomed by the community and recognized for “Best Dance Studio” by the readers several local magazines every year they have been in business. After four short years they outgrew their first location in Historic Downtown Woodstock and are thrilled to have expanded to their current location in the Publix shopping center at Old Highway 5 and East Cherokee. Their new facility offers two large dance studios with Marley flooring and closed-circuit cameras that broadcast classes live to flat screen TVS in the waiting area, as well as four soundproof music rooms with viewing windows and a separate lobby area.
